Session Information

The Joplin Amateur Radio Club sponsors regular ARRL-affiliated Volunteer Examiner (VE) testing sessions throughout the year. All license elements are available—test for your initial Technician ticket, or upgrade to General or Amateur Extra!

Testing Fee Structure:

$15.00 cash per testing attempt (covers all structural elements passed during the single test seat session).

FCC Regulatory Note:

The FCC charges a separate $35 application fee directly to new license applicants via email after processing. This is independent of the local $15 club session fee.

Candidate Packing Checklist

Ensure you bring every single item on this tracking layout map to your session window:

FCC FRN Number: You MUST register in the FCC CORES System ahead of time to get a 10-digit FRN code. Social Security Numbers are no longer accepted on active test forms.
Official Legal Photo ID: State Driver's License, Military ID, or Passport. (Minors may utilize a parent/guardian ID along with a birth certificate/school ID card).
Testing Session Fee: $15.00 cash (exact change appreciated!).
Existing License Copy: If upgrading, bring your original official printed copy (or reference PDF) of your current amateur radio license along with any CSCE certificates.
Calculator: Standard standalone basic math or scientific calculator. Cell phones, tablets, or programmable computing devices cannot be out on the table.
